Sakamoto: 49ers Jimmie Ward earns 5th year option

The San Francisco 49ers announced today the team has exercised their fifth-year option to FS Jimmie Ward. Ward has had an up-and-down career since being drafted by the team back in 2014.

A player who I believed has been playing out of position, it appears the team is now set to make him their single high free-safety under new DC Robert Saleh
