According to a recent ESPN Poll in regards to who the San Francisco 49ers should re-sign next, it was WR Michael Crabtree who won out as he garnered 47% of the vote. The other three selection included G Mike Iupati, G Alex Boone, and TE Vernon Davis. And while OLB Aldon Smith is also due for a big contract, he was left off the list for now as the 49ers picked up his fifth-year option for the 2015 season.

As of 10:50 am this morning, ESPN’s Bill Williamson reported that Iupati had 23 percent, Boone received 19 percent, and Davis was last with 11 percent. Williamson also gave his analysis on the results as he said:

“I agree with the majority of the voters. Crabtree is a key to the offense and with his contract entering the last year, he needs to be a top priority. Still, I’d be mildly surprised if a deal with Crabtree is struck before the start of the season. I have a feeling we will be talking about Crabtree’s contract into the offseason.”
