49ers’ Ahmad Brooks: “I did not quit on the team,” but had run-in with Jim Tomsula

Today, San Francisco 49ers beat writers had the opportunity to talk to second-team All-Pro OLB Ahmad Brooks about his controversial decision to not play against the New York Giants last week.

Brooks opened by emphasizing that he did not quit on the team saying,”I did not quit on the team. I did not take myself out of the game.” CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco then asked Brooks when did he feel an apology was needed and Brooks said, “On the ride back home on the plane. I felt bad. I felt bad and I didn’t like that feeling…so I decided to apologize to Jimmy Tomsula because that’s the guy that I said those words to.”

What was exactly said? “I’m going to keep that behind the scenes,” Brooks said.

Asked if Brooks was fined by the team, “If I got fined, I got fined.”
