I sat down with San Francisco 49ers SS Jaquiski Tartt after the Atlanta Falcons game and he walked me through the play in which he de-cleated Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones.

“I honestly didn’t think I hit him that hard,” Tartt told me. Tartt, whose scouting report coming out of Samford was his hard-hitting ability told me the hardest hit he delivered was one that knocked both him and the receiver out during a high school football game. “My hardest hit had to be in high school where I hit a receiver on a screen-pass. It’s on youtube.” See the video below.
Tartt went on to tell me that the hit on Jones should be credited to the game-film he studied during the week. “I knew where the play was going because they like to run that route with him on second and short and third and short, so I knew it was coming.”
With Tartt showing plenty of promise on the backend of the secondary, look for more hits to be delivered as Tartt can bring the wood with the best of them.
