If you ask who the greatest San Francisco 49ers tight-end to ever don the red and gold, you would have mixed reviews. Some would say it’s current TE Vernon Davis and who could argue? Especially since he made one of the biggest plays in NFL history with “The Catch III.” However, one player that will continue to earn the respect as possibly the greatest 49ers tight-end is TE Brent Jone. The tough, hard-nosed, and unselfish play of the former Forty Niner, Jones reflected on his fondest memories of Candlestick Park.
