Vic Fangio: If 49ers don’t choose me or Mike Shanahan, I’m gone

Things just got a little more interesting as Michael Silver is reporting that if San Francisco 49ers DC Vic Fangio doesn’t get the head coach position he wants out of San Francisco.

However, there is one coaching candidate Fangio would stay for and that’s if Mike Shanahan got the position. An interesting scenario as Shanahan would also likely solidify the vacant offensive coordinator position with his son Kyle, I’m also told that the 49ers may bring in Dowell Loggains to be the team’s quarterback coach as well.

But with the 49ers looking to go in another direction as they scheduled a second meeting with Broncos OC Adam Gase today to make one ‘final push,’ the writing may be on the wall that Fangio may be on his way out.
