Source: 49ers’ OLB Aaron Lynch To Start Week 1

According to a source close to the situation, it appears that San Francisco 49ers second-year OLB Aaron Lynch will start Week 1 despite being overweight.

A player who showed plenty of promise as the team’s best pass-rusher (according to Pro Football Focus), will now have the opportunity to tackle on full-time starter responsibilities.

Lynch has been working extremely hard with 49ers strength and conditioning coach Mark Uyeyama aka ‘Uye’ as he tries to get back into football shape and had nothing but great things to say about his coach as he believes that he’s the best in the business.

There were rumors swirling around that rookie third-round pick (No. 79) OLB Eli Harold would get the starting nod if Lynch was unable to shred the fat — but it looks like that won’t happen as Lynch Mobb will be back in action to start the 2015 season. However, nothing is set in stone and we will just have to wait and see how the rest of the preseason plays out as Lynch has yet to take a snap this year.

In 16 games last season, Lynch recorded 23 tackles, 6.0 sacks, and four pass break-ups.
