USA Today

According to Adam Caplan of ESPN NFL Insider, the San Francisco 49ers are talking with the Baltimore Ravens discussing a possible trade that would send undrafted rookie free-agent C Nick Easton to the 49ers in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick.

At 6-3, 300, Easton would provide some stability to the position after the team released four-year veteran G/C Joe Looney yesterday.

A Harvard graduate with the football IQ to match, Easton will be a nice addition considering what is out there on the open market. Not to mention, he is fundamentally sound who plays with good body control and balance, Easton would be a welcomed addition to 49ers OL coach Chris Foersters‘ zone-blocking scheme.

During the 2015 preseason, Easton was the highest-rated center according to PFF as he boasted a +7.7 run blocking grade and +9.1 overall.
