Report: 49ers’ ILB Patrick Willis suffers “turf toe” injury, ruled out against Denver Broncos



According to Pro Football Talk, San Francisco 49ers ILB Patrick Willis suffered a sprained toe ligament aka “turf toe” and it will likely be sidelined for this week’s much anticipated matchup with the Denver Broncos (4-1). The injury occurred late in the the second-quarter of last night’s game and Willis was seen walking around in a boot shortly thereafter.

Willis who had an MRI today will likely be replaced with rookie third-round pick (No. 77) ILB Chris Borland.
