The San Francisco 49ers and ILB Michael Wilhoite have agreed to terms as he signed his exclusive rights free-agent contract on Wednesday.

Wilhoite who endured a career-season last year as he racked up 87 tackles, two interceptions and six pass break-ups will now become a restricted free-agent next season. The team was in talks of a long-term contract but that has since died down.

With Wilhoite signed for the 2014 season, he will likely start opposite of ILB NaVorro Bowman once preseason begins.
