Just after ranking San Francisco 49ers teammate WR Michael Crabtree No. 21 on ESPN’s Fantasy Football Now, they turned their attention to the tight-ends. A position that is the epitome of limited supply and high demand, it was TE Vernon Davis who ranked in the top 5 as Davis comes in at No. 4.
In 2013, Davis enjoyed a career season as he recorded 52 catches for 850 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. A big red zone target with the ability to stretch the field, it’s no wonder Davis is ranked inside the top 5. However, I do believe he should have been higher than New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski who comes in at No. 3. Gronk has been injured for the past two seasons is no longer the All-Pro tight-end he once was. And with Davis starting to shine while displaying his freakish H-W-S, he should have been higher than No. 4 in my opinion.
Below is ESPN’s top five tight-ends, do you agree?
1. TE Jimmy Graham (New Orleans Saints)
2. TE Julius Thomas (Denver Broncos)
3. TE Rob Gronkowski (New England Patriots)
4. TE Vernon Davis (San Francisco 49ers)
5. TE Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys)
