One of the biggest debates heading into the 2014 NFL Draft is which direction the San Francisco 49ers will go in round one. A team that has depth across the board in all but two positions, the question remains will they go wide receiver or cornerback? And while the 49ers recently signed WR Brandon Lloyd to a one-year deal, the verdict is out if they will now go in another direction. NFL Network’s Eric Davis chimed in on what he thinks is the Niners No. 1 need heading into the 2014 NFL Draft.

And while I believe he would go cornerback as they lost two key cornerbacks to the cross bay rival Oakland Raiders in CB Carlos Rogers and CB Tarell Brown, he still believes wide receiver should be their No. 1 need, as he said, “Their No. 1 need is a speed wide receiver! They have needed it, they haven’t had it, I know Crabtree is Colin Kaepernick’s favorite receiver, but he’s got to get someone that can stretch a defense, stretch the field consistently!”

And NFL Network’s Terrell Davis agreed as he said, “They need a guy that’s a difference maker at the wide receiver position.”
