San Francisco 49ers WR Michael Crabtree did not want to talk about his contract situation as he’s scheduled to become an unrestricted free-agent after Sunday, but he did give us a good quote as he said, “I can’t wait to see what’s next, the next chapter in my career.” Does that chapter include the 49ers? Probably not as Crabtree will likely command top dollar on the open-market, something the 49ers front-office is reluctantly willing to give to a No. 2 wide-receiver.
Not to mention he was asked that very question on if he wanted to return to the 49ers and he responded by saying, “It depends. I don’t even want to talk about it. It’s one of those things. It’s got to happen.”
And while the 49ers may not be in the cards for Crabtree next season, he did give high praise to head coach Jim Harbaugh. “Meant a lot. It’s Jim Harbaugh, one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever played for. He’s just a good dude. Everybody has their own opinion but he’s been a good dude to me and this team.”
