BREAKING: 49ers’ WR Jerome Simpson suspended for Six Games

The San Francisco 49ers today announced that troubled but talented WR Jerome Simpson has been suspended by the NFL for the first six games of the 2015 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

The incident in which Simpson violated occurred prior to coming to San Francisco back in July 2014 in which he was cited for marijuana possession, open container, and violating the conditions of his limited drivers license, so by no means was this a surprise as the team did their due diligence before hand.

The team does not have to make a decision on releasing Simpson as he will now fall under the reserve/suspended list and will not count against the 53-man roster.
