As I was working out this past Saturday, I spotted San Francisco 49ers T Anthony Davis. The starting right tackle for the 49ers was seen coming in the gym and walking straight for the cardio machines in mid-afternoon. A player that does not have to do anything at all as it’s still considered the off-season, it’s good to see Davis putting in work on his own.
A 180 degree turnaround considering the knock on Davis coming out of Rutgers University was his work ethic. Davis had to deal with that criticism in his 2010 press conference, as he was asked numerous questions regarding his love for the game and work ethic, as he said:
We’ll see. I love this game. We’ll see. Everybody has negative things to say. I don’t pay much attention to it, but I’m just ready to work, ready to learn and am ready to make myself the best tackle that I can be.
With Davis being spotted at the gym more and more, as he also posted a video of him showing off his athleticism with a one-handed dunk, it’s good to see that Davis is ensuring his body is in tip-top shape to start the 2014 season.
