The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have waived FB Alex Debniak. Originally signed as an undrafted rookie free-agent last off-season, Debniak was then placed on the injured reserve as he tore his Achilles.

The former Stanford product was supposed to fight for a roster spot but unfortunately did not fit into the 49ers plans and as a result will now have to find work elsewhere. With Debniak off the team, that leaves the door open for FB Will Tukuafu as he is the team’s primary backup to FB Bruce Miller.
