With San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl TE Vernon Davis continuing to better the community in the off-season with his philanthropist ways, it was Santana Row’s Summer Fashion Show that helped Davis fulfill that goal.
A show that featured Davis for the second consecutive year, in which a portion of the proceeds go to the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts, it was Davis who was the main attraction. The foundation, whose mission is to promote art education and art appreciation amongst youths from disadvantaged backgrounds, Davis continues to take time out of his busy schedule to help raise money for the foundation’s grants and scholarships.
The event took place today and included two shows, the first at 1 p.m. and the second at 4 p.m. The pre-party included many complimentary services ranging from back massages to champagne tasting. A true VIP experience, Santana Heights was nothing short of spectacular. Some of the companies that were present included Jamba Juice (Vernon Davis), LB Steak, and Cornology.
The fashion show itself was a huge success. Greeting the guests were complimentary Gucci gift bags. Those gift bags which included tons of discounts on many restaurants and stores including Pasta Pomodoro and Beau Bijou, was a nice opening touch to the event. In addition, two lucky winners were given special bags in which they received a $50 hair service from Atelier Salon & Studio. So what did I do? I look in the bag and poof, I was one of the winners! Too bad, I don’t have any hair.
As the show kicked off it was filled with top Bay Area models as they showed off their current Summer trends through the sponsors. Those fashionable sponsors which included Calypso St. Barth, Diesel, Free People, Orvis, C. Wonder, H & M, Icebreaker Touchlab, Chico’s, St. Croix, Splendid & Flying Lizard Designs, Tommy Bahama, Anthropologie, Oakley, Scotch & Soda, Smith Alder, Ted Baker London & Donald J. Pliner, Anne Fontaine, and Franco Uomo & Beau Bijou all brought out their new designs and they did not disappoint (see photo gallery above).
As the fashion show came to an end, Davis was seen coming out in style with his new Gucci suit and tie. And as he walked out a lucky lady was fortunate enough to receive a kiss from the Pro Bowl talent. A show that ended with a bang, Davis finished it off with a thank you speech as he wanted to give thanks to the people that continue to show their support for not only Davis but his foundation.
The end. Right? Wrong. The festivities continued with after parties that lasted until 8 p.m. Among those that participated were Anne Fontaine, C. Wonder, Diesel, Donald J. Pliner, Gucci, Scotch and Soda, and Straits. Those sponsors not only showered the guests with sushi and wine but also gave exclusive discounts on their collections.
With Davis trying to be a Pro Bowl player both on and off the field, you can’t help but praise the guy for the work he has done. Whether working with troubled youth or helping kids in need, Davis continues to be a consummate role model as he tries to better the community.
Special thanks to Santana Row Media Relations Consultant Donna Kato for allowing us to be there up close and personal while covering this great event.
