The San Francisco 49ers certainly need more depth at the cornerback position and in doing their due diligence scouted CB Bashaud Breeland at his Clemson Pro Day. Niners GM Trent Baalke who was present at Clemson’s Pro Day had dinner with Breeland afterwards according to NFL Insider Tony Pauline.

This isn’t the first time Baalke has had dinner with potential NFL hopefuls as OLB Aldon Smith had dinner with Baalke back in 2011 and made such a good impression, the 49ers selected the Missouri product. At 5-foot-11 and 197 pounds, Breeland’s numbers were not all that impressive as he ran a 4.62 40-yard dash, 11 reps on the bench press, and 34.5-inch vertical, however he did play in a big conference and with cornerbacks at a premium, Breeland may be a second or third-round option for the 49ers.
