Carrier who was buried on the depth chart behind TE Vernon Davis, TE Blake Bell, TE Garrett Celek, and TE Vance McDonald, will now have an opportunity to shine in Washington.

A few days ago the team traded TE Asante Cleveland to the New England Patriots and now Carrier. A smart move by 49ers GM Trent Baalke as he keeps adding draft picks to his repertoire, the 49ers get something for nothing as Carrier would have been released either way.
