After being turned down by numerous offensive coaching candidates, the San Francisco 49ers opted to stay in-house and hire from within as former quarterbacks coach Geep Chryst will be named the new offensive coordinator according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer.

An idea I tweeted just moments after Philadelphia Eagles WR coach Bob Bicknell, decided to remain in Philly, it looks like Chryst will now be the man in charge as he takes over for new Buffalo Bills OC Greg Roman.

Chryst previously served as an offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers from 1999-2000 and ranked 26th and 28th in the NFL respectively. But don’t think for a second it’s all his fault as he had Ryan Leaf as his quarterback with RB Jermaine Fazande as his leading-rusher.
