The San Francisco 49ers today announced the two-year extension for T Joe Staley.

The news comes just hours after the 49ers held their Levi’s Stadium ribbon cutting ceremony in which we were there covering the event. I noticed GM Trent Baalke and Staley having a pretty serious conversation shortly after the ceremony was over as we were all eating lunch and thought to myself something must be going down. As it turns out the news was good news as the 49ers have now locked up their Pro Bowl left tackle for two more seasons.
