49ers’ T Joe Staley fined $22,050 by NFL, Anquan Boldin fined $10,000

According to CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, San Francisco 49ers T Joe Staley was fined $22,050 for his post-game comments after last week’s loss to the San Diego Chargers. A frustrated Staley took a shot at NFL referee Jeff Triplette saying, “I told the ref he was terrible at his job,” Staley said.

Not those exact words as he said he was paraphrasing but nonetheless his message got across and as a result was flagged for a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

In other news, the NFL fined WR Anquan Boldin $10,000 for striking an opponent in the head area.
