After striking a deal with the Buffalo Bills that sent WR Stevie Johnson to the San Francisco 49ers, it was not finalized yet as Johnson had to first pass a physical. A trade that saw the 49ers part ways with a conditional 2015 fourth-round draft pick in return, Johnson is now officially a member of the 49ers as he passed his physical earlier this morning.

The odds on favorite to win the No. 3 wide receiver position as he goes up against the likes of WR Quinton Patton and WR Brandon Lloyd, Johnson should win out convincingly as he’s had 1,000 yard receiving seasons in three of the last four years.

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh spoke on his new wide receiver saying, “Hunters Point, Chabot Junior College, San Francisco 49ers. Some things were starting to align in the way we saw it and the way he saw it.”

With Johnson now in the fold, you can be sure the competition will be heating up as Lloyd and Patton will not go down without a fight.
