The San Francisco 49ers yesterday announced the signing of third-round pick (No. 100) G Brandon Thomas. A player that would have otherwise been easily a second-round pick had he not tore his ACL in a private workout with the New Orleans Saints, fell to the 49ers lap in the third-round.

In 2013, Thomas started all 13 games for the Auburn Tigers at left tackle while earning All-ACC first-team honors.
In other news, the 49ers released T Luke Marquardt. An undrafted rookie free-agent signing last season, Marquardt never hit the field as he was placed on IR and thus was expendable.
