The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have signed CB Chance Casey to the practice squad while releasing DE Demarcus Dobbs. Originally signed as an undrafted rookie free-agent by the Oakland Raiders, Casey found his way to the 49ers practice squad in 2014 before being released earlier this season. The 49ers have now brought back the Baylor product as the cornerback position continues to fight off numerous injuries.

Dobbs, an undrafted rookie free-agent himself back in 2011, played for the 49ers along the defensive line and special-teams during his tenure. A versatile player who could also play tight-end, the 49ers thought it was best to let him go as he was inactive for the first time last week.
