The San Francisco 49ers continued their run on cornerbacks in the sixth-round (No. 180) as they drafted Southern Methodist University CB Kenneth Acker. At 6-0 and 190 pounds, Acker was projected to be an undrafted rookie free-agent but somehow made his way to a gold helmet on GM Trent Baalke’s big board.

A fast-twitch cornerback that excels in zone coverage, Acker will be fighting for a practice squad spot at best if he hopes to have any chance of staying around in San Francisco.
