The San Francisco 49ers will open rookie minicamp with a legacy in attendance as Jerry Rice Jr. was invited to take part in the team’s practices. A minicamp that runs from May 23-25, it will be another chance for Rice Jr. to showcase his skills as he did so during the 49ers local pro day. Rice Jr. tweeted his excitement as he saidL
Working for the next opportunity… Appreciate the ravens for getting my feet wet… Now preparing for #49ers this weekend.. Leggo!

According to Sacbee’s Matt Barrows, second-year RB Marcus Lattimore will also take part in the festivities because he did not earn any pension credit last year, which was spent on the non-football injury list allowing him to be a part of the rookie minicamp. Other notable second year-players who are eligible include WR Chuck Jacobs, OT Carter Bykowski, and DT Mike Purcell.
