49ers’ RB Reggie Bush Has Torn MCL, To Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

The San Francisco 49ers received more bad news today as 10-year RB Reggie Bush will miss the remainder of the season with a torn MCL.

An injury that was suffered while returning a punt return against the St. Louis Rams, Bush lost his footing, as he slid across the pavement before crashing into a wall.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee announced earlier today that rookie RB Mike Davis would miss significant time as he’s having surgery on his fractured hand — left the team no choice but to sign URFA RB Shaun Draughn off the free-agent market.

After rookie RB Jarryd Hayne’s release on Saturday, I immediately tweeted that I would rather take the risk with Hayne’s upside rather than Bush’s durability — turns out that was a safe call as Bush will now be watching from the sidelines.

In five games this season, Bush has recorded eight carries for 28 yards while returning two punts for nine yards.
