49ers’ QB Colin Kaepernick ‘Good Friends’ With OLB Aldon Smith

dToday, San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick silenced the rumors regarding him and his feud with OLB Aldon Smith. In fact, Kaepernick believes them to be good friends when Grant Cohn of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat asked the question about their off-field relationship.

“Yeah, I was good friends with Aldon. He had just come to my camp, to my golf tournament for Camp Taylor this past June. He showed support and helped the kids out.”

Good friends? Hmm…I rarely see them talking on the sidelines or hanging out. In fact Smith’s close friends from 2011-2014 have been CB Chris Culliver, DE Demarcus Dobbs, RB Anthony Dixon, and CB Corey Nelms. All of whom are no longer with the team.

Kaepernick went on to then bash the media by saying, “Well, if I was a reporter I would go about things logically and I would realize that I have a deal with Jaguar. I’ve had it for a few years now. So, I wouldn’t be driving a Mercedes. I would also realize that we didn’t have practice on Thursday, so no one was at the facility.” Kaepernick then took a shot at the media by saying, “So, along those lines, I feel like anyone that believes that and goes about that, reporting that is, just doesn’t have the best integrity in my mind. I mean, to try to prey on athletes’ livelihoods while one is going through a tough time is embarrassing to me for people that do report that and put that out there and jumped on that bandwagon just to get internet clicks and get attention to their website or reports. It really is embarrassing that people do that.”

With Kaepernick settling the dispute between him and Smith to the media, the 49ers can now turn their attention to football as apparently nothing happened or so Kap says.
