According to San Francisco 49ers’ OLB Aldon Smith’s agent Doug Hendrickson, Smith did not partake in any alcohol related activities while visiting then teammate DE Ray McDonald.
News that surfaced due to a search warrant affidavit released by the courts on Monday, the affidavit suggested that Smith was drinking, however that report was false according to Hendrickson, “The allegation in the affidavit is completely false. He was not there drinking,” Hendrickson told CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco.
Hendrickson went on to defend his client saying:
“This is unfortunate because we’re talking about a kid (Aldon) who is doing everything right, working in the community and with kids. And his name gets lumped into this and it’s all anybody is talking about.”
With GM Trent Baalke likely doing his due diligence as he gathers all the facts, it will be interesting to see how he handles Aldon’s off-field behavior as Smith was reported drinking in the affidavit as it read…”one of his friends showed up by the name of Aldon Smith. She stated that the three of them went to the store and bought some vodka and cranberry juice and started drinking again at his house and remained there until later in the night.”
