The San Francisco 49ers (4-4) today announced they have signed fourth-year veteran RB Kendall Hunter to a one-year contract extension through the 2015 season.

Hunter, who was drafted in the fourth-round (No. 115) of the 2011 NFL Draft has been a consistently solid backup to RB Frank Gore. However, recent injuries have plagued his young career as of late which includes a torn Achilles in 2013 and torn ACL in 2014, both season-ending injuries.

In 43 regular season games, Hunter has 262 carries for 1,202 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
