To no surprise as I predicted San Francisco 49ers GM Trent Baalke to target both CB Aaron Colvin (Oklahoma) and DE Dominique Easley (Florida), it was Easley who was closely monitored at his Pro Day today, as 49ers National scout Justin Chabot was on hand for his workout.
A good sign for Easley considering Chabot was at FS Eric Reid’s pro day last year, you can be sure the 49ers are looking to grab his services in the third-round as the 49ers have three third-round draft picks. In fact, if they absolutely fall in love with him, do not be surprised if they trade up in the third-round to take him as they did last year in the third-round (No. 88) with OLB Corey Lemonier.
Baalke who is known for drafting big school players with medical issues, as he drafted three players last season in DE Tank Carradine, RB Marcus Lattimore, and NT Quinton Dial, should not be surprised to see Easley in the mix.
With Easley on their radar, do not be surprised if he takes a pre-draft visit to Santa Clara headquarters in the coming weeks as they will have their medical staff ensure he is fully recovered from his torn ACL.
