49ers’ Jim Tomsula Didn’t Rule Out Colin Kaepernick Benching

There is no question that San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has been struggling this season. A quarterback who was reported to be on an island inside the 49ers locker room while displaying poor performances on the field, it’s no wonder Kaepernick has been rumored to be benched.

Today, 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula was asked that very question, and he didn’t exactly rule that possibility out like he did in previous pressers. “Yeah, we’re evaluating everything right now. So, we’re in the middle of it right now. I don’t have any comments on any position on our field right now. We are evaluating everybody,” Tomsula told beat writers.

Does that mean that Kaepernick won’t start against the Atlanta Falcons? “I’m not going to have any further comment. I’m just telling you that we are evaluating everyone.”

With the 49ers just trading TE Vernon Davis to the Denver Broncos, it will be interesting to see how the team responds as it’s spiraling down fast.
