49ers’ Jim Harbaugh on Colin Kaepernick’s play: “Doing his job.”

Today, the San Francisco 49ers beat writers spoke with head coach Jim Harbaugh and while his franchise QB Colin Kaepernick has been strongly criticized for his porous play, Harbaugh didn’t exactly back him up when asked about his progress.

CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco simply asked whether Harbaugh looks at stats asking, “Do you pay attention to the statistical data, the completion percentage, touchdown to interceptions…do you look at that? Do any of those numbers mean anything to you?” Harbaugh said, “Yeah.”

Maiocco then asked the coach how he evaluates a quarterback such as Colin and Harbaugh said, “Doing his job.”

Do you think that Kaepernick is progressing well? Yesterday, former 49ers TE Brent Jones voiced his concerns. Give us your feedback and start the discussion on NinerFans.com.
