The San Francisco 49ers are not only sending their positional coaches across the nation to watch these NFL hopefuls but the coaches themselves are also making the trip. According to San Jose Mercury News writer Cam Inman head coach Jim Harbaugh was on hand for Virginia Tech’s Pro Day. Not surprising to me, as I wrote an article on how the 49ers may select QB Logan Thomas two months ago, Harbaugh could not help but be intrigued by this big bodied prospect.
However, I also wrote an article on my 49ers mock draft on the first three-rounds and one player that I had the 49ers selecting was none other than Hokies CB Kyle Fuller with their second-round pick (No. 56) as I said:
Analysis: With the 49ers desperately needing depth at the cornerback position with the uncertain futures of both CB Carlos Rogers and CB Tarell Brown, Fuller would be a nice addition to the 49ers secondary. A player that loves to play aggressive while providing help in run support, Fuller would be a nice fit alongside CB Tramaine Brock and CB Chris Culliver.
