49ers’ Hold Pre-Draft Visit For DE Arik Armstead

Well it looks like the San Francisco 49ers will be hosting Sacramento native, DE Arik Armstead on a pre-draft visit according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

At 6-7, 292, Armstead has the length that 49ers GM Trent Baalke covets. A big bodied defensive end with the frame to get even bigger, Armstead is quite the intriguing prospect as he has a very high ceiling. However, at the 15th pick, I believe the 49ers should pass him up considering they already have DE Tony Jerod-Eddie, DE Quinton Dial, DE Darnell Dockett and DE Tank Carradine on the roster.

And with the 49ers still needing a wide-receiver as WR Anquan Boldin’s contract is up at season’s end, it would be wise for them to select one of those in this top-heavy wide-receiver draft class.

With the Niners continuing to bring in players for pre-draft visits we will keep you updated on the latest as it unfolds.
