49ers’ held pre-draft visit with Notre Dame DT Kona Schwenke

According to Draft Insider Tony Pauline, the San Francisco 49ers held a pre-draft visit with Notre Dame DT Kona Schwenke last week. At 6-4 and 285 pounds, Schwenke had a solid pro day in which he ran a 1.64 10-yard split, had a 29-inch vertical, and 27 reps on the bench press. A big defensive lineman that has the versatility to play both inside and outside, Schwenke will either be a late-round target in the seventh-round or possibly an undrafted rookie free-agent.

However, GM Trent Baalke has yet to draft a 3-4 defensive lineman, making me think he will wait on Schwenke and hope he signs as an URFA just like another Notre Dame defensive lineman NT Ian Williams.
