With Pro Days ongoing the San Francisco 49ers are ensuring no stone is left unturned especially in their region as QB Coach Geep Chryst was on hand for San Jose State’s Pro Day to watch up and coming QB David Fales. The quarterback who backed up current 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick while at Nevada, Fales later transferred back home to Monterey Peninsula for two seasons before regaining his Division one form at San Jose State.
Fales, who worked out at the NFL Scouting Combine back in February stood on his numbers and was focused on just doing positional drills at today’s Pro Day, as he said:
“I’m not going to run or do any agility stuff…just throw. I did everything at the Combine and I probably could improve those numbers, but I’ve been focusing a lot on the throwing and the different stuff I want to show to scouts and everybody, so that’s what I’m going to do there.”
However, there is no question in my mind that Fales is solely looked at as a No. 3 quarterback behind QB Blaine Gabbert. And with Fales transferring out of Nevada due to him not liking the offensive scheme under the pistol offense, it remains to be seen if the 49ers would be a good fit for him.
