The San Francisco 49ers recently signed two new running backs for 2015 while letting their all-time leading rusher leave via free-agency.
A move that was questioned by many Forever Faithful, the 49ers will now be taking a running back by committee approach and two players that should help that cause will be RB Reggie Bush and Australian rugby star RB Jarryd Hayne.
However, it was Hayne who has garnered praise from QB Colin Kaepernick as he worked out with him in Arizona. “It doesn’t seem like there’s much of a learning curve for him,” Kaepernick told local media on Friday. “Since the day I’ve met him, since every workout he’s been at, he’s going to give you everything he has.”
Hayne who was recruited by the 49ers due to his speed, agility, and athleticism has been a pleasant surprise so far — so much in fact that Kaepernick labeled him as, “A phenomenal athlete. Just a natural.”
With the 49ers prepared to move on from RB Frank Gore it will need to be a collective effort as Gore was not only an elite runner between the tackles but arguably the best pass-blocker of any running back in the NFL.
