49ers’ bring back Bill Nayes who served under Mike Holmgren

According to CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco the San Francisco 49ers have brought back a long-time administrative assistant under Mike Holmgren, with the addition of Bill Nayes.

Bill NayesNayes, whose role has yet to be determined, will likely work closely with Jim Tomsula. While with the Seattle Seahawks, Nayes served as the team’s football operations coordinator as he was responsible for all aspects of the team’s travel, including the budget, team charters, hotel accommodations, meal arrangements and ground transportation.

Nayes also organized the Seahawks’ training camp and minicamps, as well as the team’s operational schedules according to Maiocco.

This will be Nayes second stint with the 49ers as he served as the team’s special assistant to the head coach for four seasons under Mike Singletary and Jim Harbaugh before leaving for NC State as the team’s director of football operations, a position he held the past two seasons.

With Nayes back in Santa Clara, they not only bring back a familiar face but another person to help Tomsula with football matters.
