The San Francisco 49ers today announced that they have signed CB Marcus Cromartie to the team’s practice squad while releasing TE Xavier Grimble.

The cousin of two other NFL cornerbacks including CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and CB Antonio Cromartie, Marcus will now look to make a name for himself in the NFC West. Originally an undrafted rookie free-agent with the San Diego Chargers, Cromartie was later picked up by Cleveland before settling in San Francisco.
